You might want to let the Motherboard control the CPU fan depending on the cost of your CPU. I have been using a MX212 to control the CPU fan in my old computer, using the CPU temperature from Motherboard Monitor to control the fan speed, and have not had any problems. In my new computer I have a AM...

Hi Raquel, I did not see any problems with my setup. The only explaination is that the fan must of shorted out. It was a new fan and I had tested in on a spare power supply, but stranger things have probably happened. I have the new display installed and will have all new fans later this week. I wil...

Smoked my new MX212
Well I smoked the same chip that is pictured in this following post: http://www.lcdforums.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2977 I have a new MX212 (LK202-24-USB Rev 1.6) and had been running it with four temp probs and internal USB and floppy power cables. Everything was working just fine until I hooked u...

I don't think that version supports fans and temperature probes. You need to have a PCB that looks like the one in this manual http://www.matrixorbital.com/manuals/LK ... USB_02.pdf.

I am not familiar with AMD CPUs. Everything in life is a compromise. The temperature probes used by the MX2 are more accurate, but they will not fit in tight places. MotherBoard Monitor does allow you to adjust the temperature values returned from the motherboard if they need to be tweaked. I have h...

The MX2 does not vary the voltage in order to control the fans; it uses Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). In other words, the 12V power is turned on and off at a given frequency so that it is on a certain percentage of the time from 0% to 100%. This is the same type of fan control you would typically se...

I do not use the keypad much, except to stop the display from cycling between different screens and to switch between screens when not cycling. I have three basic screens 1. CPU and memory statistics, 2. CPU and case temperatures with associated fan power levels and 3. CPU, case, motherboard and GPU...

If you are using the LCDC GPO PWM/RPM control, you just enter a Mimimun PWM value greater than zero on the Configuration screen and it will not go below that value while LCDC is running. You should enter a non-zero Start/Stop setting and power-up value for the CPU fan. I use 25% for Minimum PWM and ...
