Noobie Teckie Help

Post by McGreggor_uk »

Please can you confirm that the LK204-24-USB-WB 4x20 line display is powered by USB and has the ability to monitor temperatures? If this is so, how many temperatures can it monitor? I have read through a lot of your forum posts, and one says you can monitor up to 32 temps, but how is this
possible with only 4 connections on the back of the display? :-? Also, with
the system fans that can be plugged in, can the rpm be adjusted for each
individually? Lastly, will this be the display used in the MX4 kit?

Cheers in advance...

I've been getting this question a lot so I figured I would finally get around to answering it:

Each 1-Wire device has their own unique address. If you work it out, the maximum theoretical number of devices you can have on a bus is 281,474,976,710,656 devices, or about 281 trillion :jawdrop:. Obviously you will run into physical constraints before that.

As for our devices, we only provide 4 or 6 plugs (depending of you have a 202 or 204) but you can use splitters to attach more devices. As for the maximum, we haven't hit it yet. However at some point when you have too much cable, you will run into a problem where you start getting errors when you talk to your devices.

Yes
Lastly, will this be the display used in the MX4 kit?
Yes the MX4 series kit will be using the LK204-24-USB series.
