problem with VK204-25

Post by alexm »

Could someone please help?

I just bought the VFD yesterday, i followed the instructions exactly.
I am using LCDC.

When i use the option test display it is fine, it displays the text fine.

But when i do anything inside the program like just scrolling text i see full blocks go across the screen every other second?!

can anyone help please?

cheers

In LCDC setup have you selected the definition file for the vk204? Also make sure the com speed in LCDC is set to 19200...

Rob.

p.s. what OS are you using? Have you tried programs other than lcdc? See the 'cool uses' section on www.matrixorbital.com

I guess you have a test screen on there - what is in each line?

i am using windows XP Pro Build 2600

The only thing that was in the line is the text. I made sure nothing else was loaded.

I will try another PC.

Weird - have you got another com port you can try? Possibly even another cable? I'm not sure what else to suggest I'm afriad. What about other apps? LCDSmartie for example? Does that work?
