Fan Control

Post by Worf »

Can I use If statements to control my CPU fan?

I am asking because I dont like how when using the varibale control when CPU usage drops to 0% the fan stops spinning.

Should I have posted this at the LCDC site, if no one knows?

If you are using the LCDC GPO PWM/RPM control, you just enter a Mimimun PWM value greater than zero on the Configuration screen and it will not go below that value while LCDC is running. You should enter a non-zero Start/Stop setting and power-up value for the CPU fan. I use 25% for Minimum PWM and a 50% Start/Stop setting and power-up value for my CPU fan.

And if you are concerned about the fans not running at start up, please see the following link...

This is spot on - just make sure you set a minimum level you want lcdc to set your fans to, so that they don't stop spinning.

I setup my MX222 and the GPO's wont even recognize my fans. They are running and i have the external power plugged in but i can read rpm, or control them in any way. I am not using temp probes. Any suggestions?

Hello..

Can you communicate with the display? ie. turn contrast up/down, backlight off/on?
