VFD Programing Software (Smartie)

Post by trusno1 »

:o Please Help;
First how do you get the Smartie software to activate upon Startup in WinXP.
When I tried to drag the icon into the start menu the Smartie program begins but the parallell pot driver comes up with an error on the screen (repeated error boxes).

Is there a "Dummy" book to program these VFD diplays, any help would be appreciated....

Hmmm, what version are you using? I had that behavior with an older version, but an update fixed it.
BLK202A-4BR-BK + LK202-25-WB-V + LK204-25-V + VK204-25-V + LK-202-24-USB + MX212

ok. you should first set the type of LCD you want
if you have a MO VFD you should click on MO, and select a port and port speed (standard is 19200) then you can get it working

to show smartie @ startup drag it into a startup folder in your startmenu-->programs

and then add the -hide option to the link. so it becomes

"c:\blasdf\smartie\smartie.exe -hide"
