I need some help...
I just recv'd my NK204 [w/ wide voltage option] from MO. After reading and following the instructions for installation [and I went over several times] The only thing I get on the panel is a blinking cursor and nothing else. The unit is on COM1, 19200 baud, 12v plug. I just want to be able to enjoy this thing.
Please respond, anyone..

Without much detail, I'll ask a few questions:
Have you installed and set up any software to run the LCD? Have you tried Com2 just to make sure? HAve you checked both the module and the software setting baud rates to make sure they match?
BTW, I had similar issues when I forst installed...

What he said... the blinking cursor is a good thing, meaning the LCD is up and running with no problems.

Thanks for the reply.....
Yes I did try COM2. I made sure all the connections [power and data] were correct. My NK204 has the wide volt. option and I thought I may have incorrectly switched the cables, but the blinking cursor is a good indication that I did it right. As far as the device is concerned, I thought it was a config. problem with the software. I attempted both ports [COM1 and COM2] while using hyperterm but none of the keystrokes were displayed on the panel. I installed LCD driver software and this didn't seem to work either [it figures because Hyperterm didn't work]. I hope this was sufficient. Please respond with your suggestions. Thanks again.

BTW....The settings on the software matched the physical connections.

Hi.
Just a sugestion, have you checked that your serial cable is good and not the wrong type, i.e. not a null-modem cable?
