Ok, first off, Im a complete n00b when it comes to LCDs, I never even looked at them before until the VH review lol. But that review got me interested and so Im brought here . I know it can be aggravating and I know Ill probably make many stupid questions, but I would greatly appreciate any help given.

1st- Im wondering if its possible to plug in water temperature probes into an LCD to display temps, like the ones found at http://www.dtekcustoms.com

2nd- I have absolutely no idea how these things are programmed, and would appreciate a basic overview of the whole software process. Also, what are the possibilities of what could be displayed?

3rd- Sorta going along with the 2nd request lol, is it possible to have multiple pages of displays that are able to be cycled through using a keypad?

and finally last lol ;-), and I kno this would void the warranty, is it possible to mod the LED's so the backlighting would be blue instead of green?

Thanks again for all your effort, and to the manufacturers for coming up with such a cool thing in the first place

don't belive 99.9% of the stuff you read over at VH...they are all non-paid, drink to much, and listen to pink floyd type people...lemme see if i can shed a lil light here...

1st answer...the LCD cannot read directly from a thermal probe...what you can do is get a PCI card that reads the SMBus and will allow you to add up to 8 more Temp Probes for your use. you will then setup motherboard monitor 5 to read the temperatures...now with and LCD you can read the temperatures using MBM5....

2nd answer....either do the programmers ;p LCDC is one of the tops when it comes to LCD's, BUT, MAT-D-RAT was smart..he only incorporated MO LCD's and not any from the dark side (not like Jedi dark side either)...

3rd answer....YES

4th answer....YES and NO !!! confused? well some of the LCD's have LED backlights that are off to the side...this makes it super easy to replace the LED's with a color of your choice...now like the one that was in my review..that has a (can't think of the damn word) bank of small LED's in one thinger majig ??? im lost too, just bear with me....i am sure if you were a super duper LCD wizard you could do it, but I wouldn't (/me quivers in fright)...

hope this helps you a little bit...and because of your questions, my next review will make sure the I incorporate this info into it so these questions do not arise again...OOOPS...not supposed to say that...anyways, thanks for the kind compliments to that review I did for MO....so glad I suckered one of you in...i mean you came to Matrix-Orbital first ;p I am telling you this now, MO ownz hardcore man...great people in the forums, great people working at MO, and a few crazy ones that are LCD geeks (*cough*cheeseman*cough*)..and watch out for Mat-D-Rat...i heard he will throw in a...never mind...just a joke ;p welcome to the MO family here on the LCDForums...make sure you tell your friends about these whackos

k, thanks a bunch for clearing things up lol. As for the capabilities/programming, after taking a quick look thru the site itself (it wouldnt come up for me before...damned faulty 26.4k connection) I got a good picture in my head how the whole thing works...for the temperature probes, I never really understood how they hooked up in the first place (never saw connectors/specs/etc.) so that q wasnt really applicable here but thanks anyways...and I am definitely gonna buy one when I go to build my new pc

**Edit**....them VFD's look spiffy screw the led mod
