connecting external power supply to LK 202-24 USB

Post by ramjet »

I recently purchased an MX 201,with LK 202-24 USB display,I would like to connect 4pin floppy connector to power GPO1,2 and 3,to run fans etc, however Technical manual for LK202-24,Revision 1.0 shows to remove jumper #2 to connect external power, Tech Manual Revision 1.6 which I am assuming is a newer revision? say's nothing about removing jumper? so my question is do I need to remove jumper #2 to connect external power supply, or can I just plug in 4pin floppy cable and Go?

Hi CG,

I have tried out the high power option with an LK202-24-USB PCB revision 1.7 display and can confirm that no major hardware changes are required. You are correct in assuming manual version 1.6 is the most recent, and if you take a look on page 10 you'll see the power select jumper. This is the only change necessary, allowing you to power fans at 5V, or 12V High Power.

If you have any further questions or concerns regarding the initial set up of your display, please post them here.

Thanks,
~Troy
