LK204-24. Wraps as 4 line scrolls as 2 line

Post by paulb2 »

I am trying to get the auto scroll working on a LK204-24. I have sent 0xfe, 0x43, 0xfe, 0x51 to set up the display.

As I print characters to screen it works as expected with wrapping working down to line 4. However when line 4 wraps instead of the whole screen scrolling as expected the 4th line scrolls to the first line, line 2 and 3 stay put and cursor position goes to start of 4th line.

Is there any explanation of this behaviour.

Regards

Paul.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for your question, I apologize in the delay in my response. I understand you have noticed that turning the line and auto wrap functions on results in rather strange behavior from your LK204-24-USB.

Unfortunately, this is a bug that we are aware of, which means that scrolling in the way you have envisioned will not be possible using display functions. This issue has been remedied on the replacement for this model, the LK204-25-USB, however, no fix is planned for the older unit.

Thanks,
Troy

Could I suggest that in future you add an errata section to the manuals sections that details Known issues like this. I spent quite a while trying to convince myself that I was doing something wrong myself.

Hi Paul,

I apologize for our lack of documentation on this issue and the time it has cost you in troubleshooting. Your idea for a known issue section in the manual is a great one, and is something we will look at in the future as we continue to improve our documentation.

Thanks,
