Im about to purchase a MX5 for my new system (black Coolermaster Stacker) to work as a fully functioning digital baybus. Ive decided to get a MX5 rather than a MX4 as Ive been told that VFD is alot better than LCD. Ive just got some questions regards my purchase to make sure Im doing the right thing:
1) Im looking to get the MX512 as it seems to be the best colour on black (to match with the Indicator LED Bus Ill be getting aswell) and think the keypad would be invaluable to allow me to change fan speeds aswell as other things. I was wondering what would be the best way to stealth the keypad while keeping it functional? Basically I want the looks of the MX532, but with the keypad functions of the MX512. MO has already advised me that this would be possible and I was considering painting the vinyl overlay a uniform black using something like vinyl dye or car spray paint.
2) What is the best way to connect 4pin fans to the MX5 LCD? - Ive seen the 4-3 CVR on the MO website, but unsure how that works exactly and how it develops the RPM signal on fans that initally dont have that. Ill only be putting on the default fans from the Stacker, whereas the CPU fan will be connected directly to PSU for peace of mind. Im pretty sure they dont have an extra RPM lead, would the 4-3 CVR be able to generate RPM. Sorry if this seems a silly question, unsure how this is done (was advised by MO, but still am confused)...
