LCD Smartie 5.3 alpha 3 is available for download.

Includes many bug fixes - more stable than 5.2.

That's for you to decide.

Personally I would say no.
That may seem strange coming from the current maintainer of LCD Smartie... but my current goal is only to breath life into a neglected program. To make it better than LCDC would require a complete rewrite and redesign of the UI - nobody is likely to do that!
