Hello, it is very to difficult to suggest one of our units based on just size alone. Our core competency is serial and USB (LCD/VFD and Graphic) interface displays. Depending on how you would like to communicate, design, and accesorize using some of our brilliant options provided on our unique displays, will decipher how you choose between our unit(s).
The unit I will suggest that is the closet to your mentioned 6inches(length) would be our Graphic- GLC or GLK24064-25 (see links below):

First off I would like to apologize for my horrible typing in the last message
. Ok anyways thanks for the suggestion on the screen it looks nice, the application I am going to be using it for is in addition to my 7" vga touchscreen for my carputer to display the song title, PC temp at all times while my main display will be doing everything else. One other question I had is about the backlights on the screens, are the colors set for each LCD (i.e. green background or blue, red, etc.) or is it a choice or somethign that can be changed ? And finally about the hookup of the unit, is it a faiirly straight forward process running XP, and most likely a winamp or media player based engine so it displays the title, and if the other display settings cna be modified and if so does it involve hacking the modules on the screen or is it a small prog running under the PCs OS that controls the display(I would prefer USB but serial would also work). Sorry for so many questions but I am just trying to make sure I know what I am getting myself into since I have never used a regular LCD like these before.

Hello, the color displays are options/choices with our Character and VFD displays. (ie- WB=Blue background/white text).
Our graphic unit (GLK24064-25) only comes as the standard yellow/green(but is our largest screen). If you are interested in the color displays and USB options you will have to steer away from our graphic units for now. The largest display we have in USB/color would be the 20x4 line displays:
LK204-24-USB-WB (additional colors avail-.i.e.= IY, R(red), GW etc.).
See Link for some of the color choices/pics:

As for running with XP I will leave that up to our engineers or a more qualified (XP) person to answer.
Hope this helps and please feel free to post with any additional questions or concerns. You may also contact me direct at: berniew@matrixoprbital.ca
