What to get????

I've just bought a new Lian Li V1000 Alu case and dont know which MO screen to go for? the theme will be 'blue UV' in colour so a VFD with a blue Filter or a Graphic LCD? I definitely want a 'bare' four line display, probably with 4 GPOs, temp probe connections and communication over USB.

I like the look of the VFDs but can you display different fonts etc as in the graphical LCD?

I'm open to all recommendations?

Have you considered which ones come in USB and which ones don't?

I recall that most if not all of the VFDs are still serial interface only? Also true of the Graphical LCD and VFDs if I recall.

Do you want to run external seriel to hook them up?

If your looking for a 4x20 VFD with USB functionality, the part number your after is the MX5 series. Please see the following link: http://www.matrixorbital.com/pages/prod ... tID=5&mx=5

The VFD modules have a pre-determined character font with 8 custom characters that can be created to your desire. Please see section 2.4 of the following link as it will detail all the characters available!

yeah i think ill go for the VK204-24-USB bare unit and mount it myself. i wanted a USB VFD and blue filter, this one looks the trick!
