MX4 faceplate and keypad dimensions?

Post by VayVay »

Is an exact layout of the MX4 faceplate with dimensions available? I'd like to machine my own aluminum overlay with cutouts for the buttons so I have the best of both worlds, and having a proper drawing to follow would help greatly.

Also do the butons protrude from the surface at all (i.e. do they bulge out a little in the center like some membrane keypads) or are they completely flush?

TIA

Hello Jason, the (B2041/MX4) face plate demensions are as follows:

*** Face Plate Dimensions: 149mm(L) x 86m(W)***

If you were to run your finger across the keypad/buttons they do protrude slightly.

Please feel free to contact me with any additional questions or concerns.

Thanks for the fast response. What I'm really after though, are the dimensions of the buttons and screen cutout and thier placement on the face. If you have a drawing of the faceplate in DXF or EPS format, that would be ideal, but any information you can give me would be helpful.

Thanks again,
Jason

Jason, unfortunately I can not provide that information. My only suggestion would be to order a beige or black keypad overlay and use it as a guide to measure the demensions yourself (I'm guessing... laser work)??

No problem, I'll measure off of my unit when I get it, I was just hoping to ge a head start. How does the saying go, "patience is a virtue." Bah, I don't buy it ;).

As far as the machining, my dad has a nice 2 axis end mill, I think that should suffice (although it would be really cool to get my hands on a laser :) ) I'll be sure to post some pics when its done.
