defective GLK24064-25 ?

Post by mscreations »

Hello.

Recently I purchased a GLLK24064-25 unit as I had also recently received a MX211 unit and loved it. When I received the GLK unit (much to my surprise I might add as I received it way before the ETA on the backorder), I tested the unit and found that I can only display 39 characters across when using any type of software. I can, however, use mogd.exe to draw on the display where I cannot have text. I'm stumped as to why it's acting like this.

oops. I also forgot to ask another question regarding this display. It will be far easier for me to integrate this into my project by having it connect via USB. Is it possible to use a serial->USB converter?

The way our GLK24064-25 presents text is in a bitmap format. In saying this, you can design your own text and make it any size you want!!! You can also adjust your font metrics setting for character spacing, line spacing, top margin, and left margin accordingly. The beauty of a graphics module is that you can basically represent whatever you want, wherever you want!! :D I don't see why a serial/USB converter wouldn't work...
