I purchased this unit back in July/August (just as the Rev 1 with GPO's) came out. It worked fine for a few days but then started messing up.
LCDC auto detects the card with no problems (Com3 - 19200 baud). It is able to adjust the contrast and send text to the unit as long as you are in the 'test' mode. As soon as you exit test mode and click 'start display' the screen doesn't change except for the top 7 characters and bottom 1 character on the far left of the screen. These characters scroll by very fast while the rest of the display does nothing.
I'm competing in a case mod contest on Tuesday and I would very much like to have this working before then. Please Help.
Thanks,
Chris
MX202-24 USB Problem
I have actually finally resolved the issue (by pure luck).
I am running the latest LCDC, WinXP, and no, your test software doesn't work (couldn't ever get it to recognize the card - db was outdated).
The problem was that LCDC's software would autodetect the panel just fine but it would assign it the wrong profile. Once I found the profile setting, I changed it from "LK202-24-USB or MX2xx rev1-3" to "LK202-24-USB or MX2xx". This change has corrected the issues completely and it is working great.
I am a perturbed that I have been unable to use the LCD since August because of this problem. I didn't have time to post in these forums when it initially broke so I used the support system on Matrix-Oribital.com and all requests were ignored. As a result I ended up not competing in the QuakeCon Case Mod Contests (the entire reason I spent about 50 hours and > $500 on my case mod).
