204-25PC GPO question.

Post by GarrettWG »

I bought one of these about a year ago, and then did something stupid and swapped to an Abit board with no serial. I've finally found a USB converter I can live with and ordered it. Since I never got around to it before I'm wondering, would there be any issue with this unit running 3x80MM fans and 1-120MM fan with 2 LEDs at the same time?

Thanks.

You'll want to observer the max current rating on the GPOs, which is 750 mA. So I wouldn't recommend hooking all that up to one GPO, but I suspect that's not what you had planned anyhow. But current is the relevant spec, just check the stickers on your fans and don't try to pull more than 750 mA from a single GPO. At one fan per output, you're home free (my best guess based on what I know about fan currents in general).

Actually I was planning on sticking the two front 80mm fans on one GPO, the 120mm on its its own, and the rear 80mm on its own. Still trying to decide if I want my cold cathodes controlled by the LCD or on a switch.
