Blue filter for VFD

Post by areynolds »

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone. I recently installed a VK202-24-USB VFD and blue filter into my system and I am very impressed to say the least, however, I was hoping that the display would appear more blue than it is. Based on the images I have seen here I thought that with the blue filter the display colour would match the blue LEDs of the Coolermaster cases but my display is more of a green-blue if that makes sense. The filter is definitely blue so I am interested to see if anyone has a similar experience or do I need to have my eyes tested?

My VFD and blue filter will (hopefully!) be here in a few days. I'll be able to tell you my experiences then. However, green-y blue is what I expected from looking at the pics on the site. It seems Matrix Orbital's filters are far more subtle than some of the other makes out there. (IMO that's a good thing, but that's personal preference.)

Depending on your preference, the blue filter does make the display blueish in nature however not to the extent that a blue LED is. As "areynolds" stated, the blue is "subtle".
