Hello, I have been looking at a LK204 LCD bay, and needed clarification on a few things. Before that begins I'll clarify you on the specific model... which is this one right here: http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/ ... 44886466c7
What I want to do with it is to view all kinds of information (duh) but also be able to change the fan speeds and prehapes monitor some temps. What does the basic model listed on that page come with, do I need to buy a seperate keypad? Does it come with the things to mount it in my bay, or do I need to get the "Bay Insert"?
Also, would the "MX Indicator LED Bus" take up an additional bay on my case? Because I have only 2 5 and 1/4 bays avalible for this.
Thank you for any help you can provide!
LK204-24-USB questions
If it was me and I would wait until the MX4 was released. It will be such a great solution for a LK204 display if you have the two 5 1/4 drive bays available. It will have a nice kepad, but you will have to mount a LED bus elsewere. I don't like the LED bus anyway. IMO, it does not enhance the value of the MX4 that much anyway when you have a 80 character display to work with.
P.S. I finally got to bring up your link. The web site was down earlier. With the bay insert, it is basically the MX4, but without the keypad. I would wait until the key pad was available. Also, I would order directly from Matrix Orbital so you are sure to get the latest firmware version since they made some changes recently. You will also probably want 1 to 6 temperature probes, an available floppy power cable/connector and the internal USB Cable.
Actualy I love me LED bus... I have a number of accounts I never check and I'm really bad at checking my HD space too.. so right now I have it setup that when I get e-mail a LED turns on... this way I don't have to check those accounts all the time, and it's a simple cool little DIY project,
