What's the best LCD for me?

Post by ezlee79 »

Currently building my first pc. I would like to use something in the mx series as a tempture monitor and possibly a fan controller - or in conjunction with an independent fan controller. I would also take advantage of it's cosmetic appeal and use it to display text, cd tracks, etc.
What's the best unit for my purposes. The mx211 seems to fit the bill and the color scheme is correct for my build as well, but I would be interested in a more informed opinion.
Also, what the possibility of me installing this myself without major incident. I would be fair to say I am a novice, but certainly no fool when it comes to electronics. Is it advisable fro me to even take on this project.

any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

The MX series is the easiest display to install out of all we offer. You will not need any soldering skills to use the MX2, but if you get advanced you can do some interesting things <:) check out some of the reviews...

How to the MX2 models differ?

Henry,

Thanks for the reply. The links you provided were very useful on getting in depth knowlege of the MX. I suppose my real question what's the difference between the mx2 models. The only difference I can dicern from looking at the feature list is the color of the face plate and lcd display, and of course the lack of keypad on alluminum face models. However, I don't see any difference in functionality across the board- all can monitor temps and function as a baybus, all can use Winamp, etc. Is this the case?

thanks,

lee

Hello, the only difference is colour of screens, keypad (beige or Black)colour and face plate choice, if you use the Aluminium..it does not have push button
keypad with it.

eg:

MX21_ series is Black push button keypad with different colour screens.
MX22_ series is Aluminium (no push button)with different colour screens.
MX20_ series is Beige (push button) with diff " " "" "
MX23_ has no push button keypad, just black overlay.

Regards,
Bernie:)

I thought as much when examining full listings. However, when examining the broad listing of all mx models the features are cut up in such a way as to make it appear that each model has specific attributes.(Henry if you are reading you might want to look into this). Maybe I was the only one that was confused. Not really a big deal. Anyway, thanks for the positive clarification.
