Hey,
I just ordered my MX2 and I need some help.
The side of my case has 2 Raidmax fans, using pass-through power cables that connect to the hard drive sized jacks.
Each fan only has 2 wires, no yellow wire.
Is there a way to modify these to use the 3 prong plugs that connect to the MX2? I figure if all the voltages are the same, I can splice the wires pretty easily, but I have never done this before (with PC parts).
Also, is a fan with a yellow wire required for any extra features?
Finally, where is the best place to put the tempurature probe, and what is a good target tempurature (Not for an individual componant, but for the general interior.
I am going to use a MB monitor to fetch the CPU temp.
Thanks!
Help with fans and MX2 installtion
The yellow wire is for RPM sensing, but you will not want to use RPM sensing if you use the MX2 to control the fans. See the following thread:

It may be easier just to replace the fans. Fans are cheap at newegg.com.
You want a temperature probe above or close to the CPU cooler to measure the interior air temperature feeding the CPU cooler. If you can keep the air temperature around 88F to 89F, that would be good. If you cannot keep the air temperature that low, then consider a better case.
