LCD/VFD display problems (MX202)
LCD/VFD display problems (MX202)
Hello,
I installed the MX202 about a week ago with no problems but now I had to format my drive and reinstall windows XP and now suddenly it claims that it cannot find the display.. I did everything the same as last time according to the installation manual..
My display does light up with messed up text, how can I get my display to work properly? or at least to find my LCD/VFD so I can use it again...
Thanks,
Arjan

to answer the first question, the revise # I will look for in a few hours when I wake up I have to open it up anyways...
When I reinstalled windows, then I plug it in and it says the new hardware thing found.. so I select the correct dir for the drivers from the cd and it installs 2 things.. then I install the LCDC programm and when I try to autodetect the screen it says the error I mentioned.. I cannot set it manually either... does it have something to do that it installs it on com port 3? in all the pics at the installation instructions it show com4
then the display shows one messed up screen...

bah, problems are back...!
My original problem from this forum topic (http://www.lcdforums.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1520) is back. it suddenly just stopped working and reinstalling dont work. I get the error that the it cannot find the display while virtual display works fine.
In reply to one of the questions Miles asked me last time which i never answered:
"In your device manager under Ports (COM & LPT) and Universal Serial Bus Controllers, what does it have the device listed as...?"
it reads: Matrix Orbital MX2xx USB Driver (COM3)
Can you plz give me some suggestions on what to do..?

I installed the programm and it gave me a script danger warning, not sure why but Norton antivirus only wanted to install it with my permission, is that suppose to happen?
After installing and starting the programm, I choose COM3 and LK202-24-USB but it says unable to autodetect LCD type the display. So I guess it is not working. My disply continuously displays "Matrix Orbital LK202-24-USB" so no messed up display.. but it just cant connect to the com port..
Please help..!!
