LCD2041 Problem

Post by runt »

Ok, I have a LCD2041 REV1.3 with soem scratched traces by the actual LCD display. Does anyone have a PCB drawing showing the actual traces. Or, does anyone know if I can just replace the LCD board with another LCD board and use the part with the serial and power connectors to convert serial signals to parallel signals?

Hello...

Are the traces scratched or burnt...? I have seen this before... :jawdrop:

From my observation the trace does look burnt...however that is not the issue...You can do one of two things...replace the LCD panel or jump a wire from the LCD output to the back of the PCB (follow the trace and you can see where it goes).

I will probably be replacing the LCD Panel since my attempts to follow the traces result in a screen with every pixel (except 2 rows) constantly lit up. :(

When you expalin this to me it sounds like the LCD isn't initializing properly therefore it may or may not be the display driver. Are you sure you didn't accidentally short the display...?
