Had this done for a while now, but was saving the pics/articles for a particular project which seems to have died on me

So now I reckon it's about time I shared the pics with you

Basically an MO LK204-25-WB-V LCD stuck to a bit of painted and bent perspex.

Then we have a custom made keypad connected through the frame to the back of the LCD.

LCDC is then used to configure the buttons to do what I want.

The first row launch various applications (WinAmp, MBM, Outlook, IE and WinTV).

The second row switches to info screens (WinAmp track info, MBM stats, date and time, RAM usage, Disk usage).

Third row is some more info screens (Network usgae, Weather report, News headlines, launch Calculator, launch Notepad).

Fourth row are system commands (Vol up, Mute, Vol down, Backlight toggle, screen pause).

Fifth row controls WinAmp (Previous track, Rewind, Play/Stop toggle, Forward, Next Track).

(The flash picks up all the dust and smudges from my fingers; it looks better in person than in the pic.) To do this, you need a Dremel tool to cut a window out of the back-part of the picture frame. I use no screws 'cause it's a tight fit.

I used Visio both to create templates for cutting out the window, and to create the blue frame window. I printed the blue frame onto an inkjet transparency; it makes a professional looking job.

This is using the USB version of the display. The single cable is the gray one to the right and to the top.

Other: Plastic case is giving me a lot of headaches. I will use some Sunbeam laser leds controlled by the GPOS (green, red, blue, and UV) as well as two high intensity leds (red and white) already mounted in the front part with two chrome holders. More pics will be posted when it is alive and kicking.

Materials Needed: Dremmell when cutting tool, And a Project Enclosure that can be bought at Radio Shack.

I had my dad measure the mx212 and he picked out a project enclosure for me once it was time to install it if you look at the measurement of the box it is smaller at the bottom!
So that ruint it and as you can see in the photos it sticks out but I think it came out ok.

Also I plan to put a fan in there and I allready made a allanumin top for it that has been but out in the midddle and I put pelexi glass in it, so you can see in

Mo In A Box

Needed something to hold the lcd while getting to know it.
After a quick look around I found this carton box, did the job perfectly

Other: I used an Emax POS Pole that I got from work when they upgraded to a new touch screen POS system I painted the enclosure black and I then moved the mounting posts to accommodate the Matrix Orbital VFD (I also used the Blue VFD filter Part BLU204)

Difficulty: Easy if you got access to a CNC punch, if not, could be a bit tricky.
Other: I have a Media Center PC hidden away under a bench and was after a way of being able to see what was playing without having to have my TV turned on. I decided the best place to mount the displays was in the front of the bench.
