MX2 USB Drivers Not Working with XP SP1 ???

Post by Cerebral »

I just recieved my new MX213 USB and have had no luck at all installing the drivers in Windows XP Sp1. I HAVE downloaded the v10 drivers and have had no luch with those either. I've tired on 4 comptuers so I dont think its me, the screen physically works and lights, and has the MO displayed with the MX213 but when I go to install the drivers the first thing i see on some of the machines is a "USB High Speed Serial Converter" and it seems to install the MS drivers for it. Next I get a USB <-> Serial" device on some of the computers or "USB Serial Device" on others with the yellow question mark. Every time I try to point it to the drivers it says it cant find any for this hardware. I try to upgrade the drivers for the "USB High Speed Serial Converter" and it cant find any for it either? HELP?

Hello...

In your device manager under USB devices, does it recognize the module as an MX series?

No, nothing recognizes as a MO device, I just get the high speed serial device and then either a USB <-> Serial or Serial USB Device in the device manager. And I have tried this on 4 different hardware platforms? All running XP SP1 PRO with all current service packs. If you need screen shots let me know?

I think I may know the problem...the yellow question mark leads me to believe that the memory chip related to the USB driver is faulty...Please email me at myero@matrixorbital.com and we will discuss your RMA options.

you could try these drivers here...

http://www.ftdichip.com/Files/P8002104.ZIP

It looks like the USB memory chip is not working properly. Now what this means to you, well, the display will work 100% correctly, then only time you may have a problem is if you decide to use two USB displays from us, or if you have another USB to Serial chip devide from FTDI.

So you can either a. use the above drivers or b. get an exchange from us.
