Backlighting Problem with Seiko L4042

Post by GMBJames »

Hello,
I have a Seiko L4042 40x2 LED LCD; I cannot figure out for the life of me how to hook up the backlight power. It's pins 15 & 16 and whenever I put power on it, the lines get really hot.
I read something about applying a Anode (+) and Cathode (-) but I have no idea what this is.
Can someone help me out? It's driving me crazy.
Thanks for any help.

Hello...

Matrix Orbital feels that these displays are bad for your health.......so if I were you I would look into purchasing a LK402-12!!
