Power Problem, help needed

Post by ruva »

Hi there,
I got a VK202-25 along with the power connection cable and a serial (9 pin M/F) cable.

When I power up the PC the VFD goes on, showing "Matrix Orbital VK202-25", but sometimes it does not.
I don't understand why the cables are well connected inside the case; and without reason the display sometimes turn on, sometimes do not.
Am I missing something, or is a defective part ?

Can anyone help me please ?

Hello...

How recently have you ordered the unit? What is the serial #?

Miles,
i think the SN is PW-459-104, Rev. 1.5 2003.
The product was just purchased, the shipping time needed from USA to Italy, where I live.
I see a black spot in the upper left corner of the VFD, I do not know if it might be the cause.

The "black spot" you see in the top left-hand corner of the display is actually used for grounding. Can you try an experiment for me? Power your PC up and if the display doesn't power up, unplug the power going to the VFD and plug it back in and let me know what happens!

Done.
Five times, and the VFD powers up after I unplug/plug the power cable.
What is it then ?
