annoying glk12232-25-wbl problem

Post by Hallis »

This thing was working fine until recently, i fire up LCDC and start the display, when it starts to display with the one of many scroll in appearences it will only make it about half way, then LCDC will lock up and i will have to end task on it. everything works and appears fine in MOGD and i have flashed the memory of the module and re-uploaded the font i use which came from LCDC's site. ive tried every combo of port settings from changing flow control to baud rates. i still get the same problems. any ideas? Oh, another piece of info. this started happening this morning, and in the meantime i have formatted and reinstalled my OS. :-?

strange,, i went from using a serial cable to plugging the 9-pin end of the 4br cable into the serial port and it works again, must be the serial cables. they are just extension cables *shrugs* that i got from MO. maybe they arent straight through extensions... Henry any input?

make sure no pins are shorted, try another serial cable. That one might be bad?

Dodgy serial cable would explain it (maybe you bought a null modem cable?) - LCDC uses flow control with the GLK and doesn't like it when the display fails to respond (well at least it didn't used to, I've not used a GLK for a long long time).
