Ease of programming?

I am having a custom software built to send jobs to the printer on a dedicated computer. I don't want to use a regular full sized monitor. I want to be able to use a MO 4 X 20 LCD screen.

How hard will it be for the programmers to send the status info to the LCD screen? Can I easily use something like LCDC to make use of the 25 key pad to controll my custom program? Change my status info?

You could get the programmers to write a small LCDC plugin for you? That way they can send/receive the info and display it as you want.
