Is It As simple of plugging in the cable's in and loading the software and it will work.... or not ?

Also how can i connect a swtich to actvate the blue backlight... or cant i do that?

Yes, and the backlight is software controlled, so all you would do is turn it on and off woth LCDC or LCD Smartie or manualy.
