Hey there,
I have some questions....but first of all I have to say that I'm such a newbie to lcd stuff so please be patient ;=).............
I bought the LK204-25 in germany (without cables).I modified one of the 3.5 power supplies to 5V and connected it to a 550W power adapter from Enermax!Second thing that i did was to connect a standard RS 232 to the lcd. After I put my pc on,the only thing that happened was that I could c smoke!Damn! So i gave my new LK.... back and it got repaired! Now i'm afraid to use it again....so what did I do wrong?
I really need some help.

Next time before plugging it in, try to verify that its giving the right voltage. If you can get your hands on a multimeter, just check and see if its giving 5V off. I actually haven't owned one of the 5V ones myself, but I believe (please correct me on this if I'm wrong) that the 5V ones are much more picky than the 12V version, so you might want to set up a capacitor to smooth out the voltage a bit if there are any inconsistancies, although that really isn't needed, I've had bad experiences, almost definately related to bad soldering on my part, that caused wierd power spikes and stuff, so now I'm just anal with everything. Oh and one more thing.... 550W!?!?!? thats insane... are you running your house off of that?

Hey Thlayli,
Thx a lot for ur answer first of all! Before i first used my LK204-25 i checked the voltage with my digital multimeter and it exactly said 5.00V!Got no clue what i did wrong....is there a chance that my standard RS-232 cable gave another voltage to the lcd?
So long Stef18 and thx for all ya help ;o)
