Is it OK to use the high power GPOs to flash/strobe a cold cathode light? Or will the flashing damage the cold cathode inverter?

I have not worked with Cold Cathodes, but I don't see why it would damage it, all it would be doing is turning it on and off... I'm sure you will get a better anwser from some one who has tried it

I think you need to be very careful with the type of Cold Cathode you try this with. I tried it with one that I have and when I strobe it must draw too much current as the LCD display gets scrambled.

I also just have problem just switching it on as the lines 2 and 3 on the LCD swap around.

I'm using LCDC.

Yes the 12v can only supply so much, but mine was fine. Concerning the other problem... top of the charts at

Re: lines 2 and 3 switching

I already have the AutoLineWrapOn as an Sys->On Start event. I did find that that in the FAQ - but when I checked there was already one there.

Didn't really worry too much as I replaced the cold cathode neon with a sound sensitive neon and don't run it via the LCD anymore.
