Heyo everyone,

I have questions about the "PC Drive Bay Insert with VFD204-25 20 characters x 4 lines."
I bought a 2 x 16 .. LCD display WITH the black 5 1/4" bay insert from C**********z. It works but, me want bigger and better! I like the way the VK204-25 model looks so, here are my questions:

1. I can not see my current LCD very well, it's the normal black on yellow green background. Unless you look straight at it, you cannot read it. How does this differ from the VK204-25?

2. From what I read I am pretty sure I should buy a blue/green filter for maximum viewing pleasure. I don't have ALOT of sunlight in my room here but, would a bluegreen filter still help in dark to some sunlight conditions?

3. I would be more comfortable buying this VK204-25 with the PC bay insert if someone posted some pics of the VFD in the insert OR just the insert itself. I was kinda upset that there were no pics of the drive bay insert on http://www.matrixorbital.com. The C**********z drive bay insert was very easy to install, is yours just as easy?

4. C**********z branded their bay insert with their brand name, do you do that?

5. How does the black insert match the lian-li brushed BLACK aluminum case? I would just like an opinion on it.

6. If I like all the answers and decide to order it, would anyone be willing to buy a used C**********z 16x2 with black pc bay insert for cheep?

Sorry about all these stupid questions but, this is something that I really want. My fiance says that this falls into that "is it something you really need" area. I say of course it is but, the fiance wants me to double check.

Thanks ahead of time,
SuperTrooper aka Tom

PS Henry, from what I can tell... from the forums, you get an A++ for support of the Matrix Orbital products!

PSS Just re-read my post. I didn't see that saying C**********z was against the rules so I hope I didn't break any.

OK, lets do this one at a time

1. Our displays have a very high viewing angle... VFD have a full viewing angle. meaning no matter from what angle you look at it, it looks good.

2. Yes

3. Our inserts are the originals, everyone else copied them... so take that as a yes  The insert is the same as the BLC2041, which can be seen here.

4. No

5. You tell me

6. Probably not, once you have the best, it's hard going any other way

Na, all it does is reduce CF link count.

Henry... You da' man.

Well, after I purchase one and get it all installed I'll make sure to get some purty pics of it on line.

I also plan on doing a review of how to install it and all that good stuff on Virtual-Hideout. The product speaks for itself so no worries about talking about it, but I would like to get something together for newbie modders. The price of this VFD is a little high, BUT it's sooo worth it. I think alot of newbie folks would get one if they are shown the whole installation WITH the premade insert.

Anyways... Off to ordering!

There are three places that have done a review... (one fo then you know)

http://bit-tech.net/article/29/
http://www.hitechmods.com/reviews/LCD/B ... 202a.shtml
http://www.virtual-hideout.net/reviews/ ... ndex.shtml

VFDs are nice, but like you said.. $$$$
