I recently got a VK204-25-V and installed it in my computer. I get a blinking cursor when I first boot up. But when I try to run any applications I get all kinds of weird characters that appear on the VFD. Is there something that I didn't set or some kind of software I need to get to fix this?

Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure you have the right speed set in the software and on the VFD.. (the VFD will be preset to 19.2K)

The COM port, the VFD, and the software are all set at 19.2 and I still get the funky lettering. What about the other COM port settings. Do any of those need to be adjusted?

8bits, no parity 1 stop bit... fire up Alpha Demo and test it using it.
