MS .NET Framework Problem

Hello all!

I have looked around previous topics, but am unable to find a solution to my GX problem.

I've have the latest GX DriverCore firmware (GX 240x64 FW 2.0 Rev.2235) and am running MS Vista Home Premium.
The GX displays the demo screens OK, (time, CPU load etc.) and it scrolls through the colours whilst doing this also (all lovely, so far)

I can use the included remote control (green button) to access my Media Center, and all of the other buttons work great too (My recorded TV etc)

But.......

When I close Media Center (using the X on the top right hand side)
I get a error message on my system.

"Microsoft .Net Framework"
Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue.
Could not load layout 'mediacenter'
and then it lists a lot of info regarding the fault.

The GX screen is now blank, and the only way to display the demo screen again is to stop, then start the DriverCore service manually.

I am running version 2.0 of the .net framework BTW

Can anybody shed any light on this issue, as I have the GX since Xmas, and it's starting to bother me now!

I'm assuming the window with the complete error description?
I'll try to, but since i've posted up this problem, I have reinstalled Vista, and have yet to get the courage to plug the GX back in (let alone install the drivers!)

hi, i have had a similar problem to do with lcdinfo. The error report is as follows. I'm on .net3.5 sp1

Hmm weird, does this happen once in a while or prettymuch as soon as lcdinfo starts every time?

I'm not sure it is when lcdinfo starts (not sure of the process and how it works or wether i need it)
When i open media centre all is good, but when i close media centre i then see the error message. Seems like the message appears when i open media centre but it is in behind because media centre opens in a full window.
It is not a constant issue but will occur about half the number of times i open media centre. It does not seem to cause any performance issues that i have noticed.

So it gets triggerd by openening and/or closing Media center? I'll see if i can reproduce that.

Phew! thanx cammy9r, looks like you have done the dirty work for me. Thats the exact same problem I had. But since re-installing Vista (Media Ed.) it's been ok, although I don't run LCD Studio (don't really understand the software well enough - not enough examples to try)

I have disabled lcdinfo as i do not use any of the default MO programs. I only use what i set up on lcd studio. This seems to have sorted out the .net errors.
Not really a fix, but no pop up errors from .net.

What version of driverCore are you running ??

I had the same problem (I run LcdInfo with screens I have re-designed to suit my requirements)

I have upgraded driverore a few times, unfortunately I cannot remember at what version the .NET problem was resolved.

I am now running Version 99 of the driverCore without any .NET stoppages but It does sometimes loose focus of LcdInfo MCE screens (TV channel for example) and return to the Windows default screen, at least there are no more stoppages.

Hope this helps someone
