3.3 volt ok for the I2C on an GLK240128-25 ?

Post by thomasj »

Hi,
I would like to use a GLK240128-25 display together with a Netburner cpu module which uses only 3.3 Volts for its I2C. Will the display be happy with only 3.3 volts or do I need a level translator ?

Hello Thomas,

Thanks for your post.

You will need to have a level translator. I have heard of TI's PCA9306. Here is a forum thread that talked about it. Go to the last post, that is where the translator is mentioned.

Hi,

Thanks for the info. I have found a couple more - the LTC4304 from Linear which also can resolve 'stuck buses', and MAX3373E from Maxim. I think I'll go with the simpler design. the Maxim part.
