LCD or VFD

Post by oscarBravo »

I've picked up an Eve Media case that's designed to have a Matrix Orbital 4x20 display installed behind a dark plastic window.

The site I've linked to suggests a LK204-25, but I'm wondering if LCD would be bright enough behind the window, and if I should go for a VFD (VK204-25) instead.

Thoughts?

personal choice really but i MUCH prefer VFD, ya can see it better at angles which is its biggest advantage ..
also the text is lite, and not the other way round (backgorund lighting the text)

i have a VFD installed and im glad i got VFD ..

IMO since there is a dark window in front, the VFD will be the only display capable of shining through. I would get the VK204-24-USB... USB interface, as well it has fan control built in, and if your as anal as I am when it comes to the amount of noise coming out of my HTPC, that display is a great choice.

I will have sales contact them to tell them, that a VFD is the only real choice for that setup.
