Ok, I've just found this very nice display that suits my needs for a project I'm working on. But since the price is a bit high and I must make a quick decision, I need to make sure of a few things first.
1) Most LCDs have a link for Manuals. I don't find any manual for the GLK24064-25-GW display? Where is the link to the manual so that I can download it?
For instance this link for manuals doesn't show a manual for GLK240128-25-GW. AND this link to software doesn't show software for GLK240128-25-GW. Where can I download the manual and software for this particular GLK module?
2) Does this particular LCD come with cables like the GLC24064 series?
3) I prefer the Gray text on light background of most modern LCD. Don't like the greenish LCDs at all. But the White on Blue looks interesting. Anyone have any pros and cons of both of these colors?
4) What is the reliability of these displays, with regards to burned out rows, columes or pixels?
5) Lastly, is there any gotchas that might not be obvious, for first time users of this particular model?
Thanks, Mike
GLK240128-25-GW Questions
Re: GLK240128-25-GW Questions
The display is in the final stages of development and the manual is not completed, take a look at the GLK24064-25 Rev 2.0 Manual, it will have all the same commands, just in a different size.ipscone wrote:Ok, I've just found this very nice display that suits my needs for a project I'm working on. The GLC/GLK series does not come with any cables, they have to be bought seperetly. The GLK240128-25 will have a DB-9 header for regular serial cables and a 4 pin power header, just like the GLK24064-25 does.2) Does this particular LCD come with cables like the GLC24064 series?
The Yellow/Green backlight performs the best in sunlight as well it has the least amount of ghosting and the highest contrast ration. The GLK240128-25-GW will have the gray/dark letters on a white backround, and I really do like it.3) I prefer the Gray text on light background of most modern LCD. LCD's do not burn out, a row or column driver may fail, but that would be a hardware failure. The displays have a life of over 100,000 hours, and the weakest component is the backlight.4) What is the reliability of these displays, with regards to burned out rows, columes or pixels?
It will not be shipping for 2 weeks?5) Lastly, is there any gotchas that might not be obvious, for first time
users of this particular model?
