best to just forget lcd smartie and those other programs LCDC does work with all the matrix orbital displays. I never had any luck with lcd smartie etc. I think they are junk really but thats just me. download a free 30 trial of LCDC to see if it suits you I amsure it will.

What type of display are you using? Sometimes displays will act that way if you do not have the correct baud rate settings.

Hi
The problem really sounds like wrong baud rate.
Is it possible for you to post a picture of your LK204-25? I want to see what settings you have on the module.

Can you get closer to the middle, right above the serial connector?

Hi
Your board is set at TTL levels. The first picture in your last post where it says 'it may be impossible to read in the pic but it says:
SIPEX
SP232AEN
0243 '
have two pads jumpered/soldered. You need to take those solder jumps off.

Yes, you can solder/wick them off, those are components, just solder blobs.
I was told there is more to this, Tom will be posting the details and a picture of what your board should look like to completely put it in RS232.

Here is a picture to illustrate what you should do to convert the unit back to RS-232.

Leave the 2 jumpers in the middle. Set LCDC to 19200 baud.
