When I start my computer the display lights up with perfect contrast but when I test , active preview or run the display all of the blocks light up slightly.
no matter how I adjust the contrast and backlight in testing it never reproduces the look when The unit is powered up. here is a picture of the hi startup screen and when I start the display 2 temp readings. It works displaying the temp but as you can see all the squares light up.
Also once I start the display I have to turn it off before it goes back to normal.

thanks I fixed it
Thanks tom contacted me and had me turn down my contrast since its a white on blue display. It worked great I knew this happened before and i fixed it myself. I just dont have the screws yet to mount it so it sat on the shelf. I have a laser engraver and I plan on laser cutting a slot in the window for my lcd4041 also to run with my mx412. I may add 3 lcd4041's since I got a great deal on 3 at ebay. anytway thanks.
one more quick question if anyone knows I use it mainly for temp readings and is there a way to make it read temps asap. I have to click on the lcdc icon in the taskbar right now and start display before the temp readings come on. when i set the temp readings to the start screen static numbers appear theat dont change until i start display.
also what is the first step in getting me going on using the buttons on the front.

You will need to have the software turned on to get a temperature reading. An idea I can suggest is to press a button to have the screen show up on button press.
To start you must find out what characters your keys generate. To find this information, you must go into the test/configuration section. When you go into the "test display" section the log will show you what character is generated, once you press a key. The picture below will illustrate this in more detail.
You will then need to make an event to jump to the specific screen. I have also inserted a picture to illustrate these details.
I hope this helps.
If you have anymore questions or concerns, please feel free to post them.
Best Regards,
