Trouble with keyboard sensitivity

Post by lugiber »

I am putting together a home made keypad with my GLK12232-25-SM. On that keyboard i have attached a scroll wheel. My problem is that the display hardly registers any of the "pressed button events" generated by the scroll wheel. Is there a way to increase the displays keyboard sensitivity so that i can use my scroll wheel? Or is this something i should bug the software developer about?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for posting at the forums.

Please refer to section 6.5.7 "Set debounce time" of the manual shown at http://www.matrixorbital.com/files/GLK1 ... -SM_TM.pdf . Changing the debounce times of the keypad will help you out.

If you have anymore questions or concerns, please feel free to ask.

Best Regards, :D

Thanks for the great support!
Sorry if this is a stupid question but can i do this by hyperterm? If so could you give me an hint on how to do it? Is it just to write "254 85 [1]" to set debounce time to 6554 microseconds.

This is what the manual said:

6.5.7 Set debounce time (254 85 [time])
[time] is in increments of 6554 microseconds.
This command sets the time between key press and key read. All key types with the exception of latched
piezo switches will 'bounce' for a varying time, depending on their physical characteristics. The default
debounce time for the module is about 52 mS, which is adequate for most membrane keypads.

None of the lcd software i have tried allow you to set the debounce time. Again thanks for your help.

Hi Peter,

Uproject will allow you to set the debounce times. If you do not have it email me at tlam@matrixorbital.ca, and I will send you a copy.
