PWM Frequency Help

Hi,

I got a MX212 about a week ago and am absolutley loving it. Great piece of kit! However I have run into my first problem. I connected my fans up to the GPOs - 2 120mm and 1 80mm fan each on a seperate GPO.

The fans run fine, I can control the speeds and have set up Events and Displays to deal with that but I seem to get a common problem - the fans are LED fans and pulse every so often.

I have run Boot Edit to change the Frequency but every time LCDC is loaded the PWM frequency resets itself.

How do I write the PWM frequency to the unit itself, or is there a way that I don't know to set it in LCDC?

Hi Ted,

When you changed the frequency on boot edit, did you write to the display afterwards? The frequency won't be saved until you write the data to the display's memory. You will be able to write to the memory by clicking on "Write to unit" under boots screens in boot edit.

Yup, fraid I did. I tried it again just now but still, when LCDC starts up the fans flicker.

Is there a command similar to [##255,195,1,255] that I can send to the display to write it that way? (yes I know that command is probably wrong but I hope you understand me)

Try this linkat http://www.lcdforums.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1979. It will show you how to set the frequency and save it in LCDC. It will be mat-d-rat's reply.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for that, it was exactly what I was looking for. That seems to have done the trick, but there is still a very very slight flickering. I can cope with that though till I can get round to powering the LEDs on the fan seperatley.
