LCD2041 v1.4 problems

Post by garagos »

I am currently having problems with my LCD2041 after re-installing Windows XP with SP2. Whenever I try to send commands/text to the lcd with the LCD Tester software all that comes up on the screen is garbled text. Before the re-install the unit was operating normally for well over a year with a couple re-installs in that time. Anyone have any ideas?

Hello...

Can you make sure that your LCD Tester is set to 19200 baud...?? Has anything else changed...the serial cable, the power cable, etc...?? :-?

I re-checked all the port settings and all are at 19200, the serial and power cables are the origionals I set it up with. I am going to try it out on another computer I have once i set it up. I will notify you if it works.

Are the jumpers circled on the picture below set at that position? This physically sets the baud rate. The jumpers should be on set as shown in the picture to have your display communicate at 19200.

The jumpers i have on mine are in a different position than the ver1.5 board. The bank is labeled J0-J3 and J1 and J2 have the jumpers on them.
