my MX2 broken?

Post by hypervoxel »

hi i have an MX2 and im having a problem with it lately - whenever i click on "start display", the screen goes blank, but the backlight stays on. BUT, if i dont click "start display" i am able to go to the screen builder and click on the different screens and they show up on the display. yet once i click on start display, i am no longer able to bring up screens in the screen builder!

im thinking it might be a hardware problem, because i reinstalled the OS and i still have this problem!

Can you test it out with uproject? It is in the ecd that comes with your mx2. Do test the following test.

1) Turn on and off the backlight.
2) Adjust the contrast.
3) Send some text.

I am able to send it text, but as soon as I start LCDC, the screen goes blank, and even after clicking "stop display" I am no longer able to send it text.

Display tuner is fine too. Have you tried adjusting the contrast on LCDC?

Looks like your display is working fine. A problem you might have is that LCDC changes the contrast to their default. Change the contrast setting on LCDC to what you desire and see if it works. :D

no, thats not the problem, the contrast is set at around 50. im going to install it on a friends computer to see if I have the same problem and if i do, its definately hardware related. If that is the case, can I get it replaced? because I haven't had it for a year yet.

I still have a couple of things I want you try before we consider repairing or replacing your LCD. Try it on your friends computer first though.
