GPO problems

Post by dan8139 »

Hello all, I have a problem with using the high power GPOs to run fans, often but not always, when I turn the GPOs on or off or adjust the PWM, the LCD fonts sometimes corrupt or all blocks light up. Sometimes it locks up. The system can still see it, but it ignores any commands. I just don't know what I'm doing wrong, maybe a power issue? Anyone else had this? BTW my LCD is a LK-204-USB rev 1.4PCB

Are you running the fans without an unmodified floppy cable attached to the MO unit?
I prefer to have a bottle in front of me than a full frontal Labotomy!

Johnny, no, the floppy cable is there. The problem on my unit is actually only on GPO 3. If I have something attached and switch on / increase PWM the unit does what I said. If I set it to 'on' the fan does actually turn on as well. It's been like this since I got it I think. Using the other GPOs for now.

Hi Miles.

Yes the other GPOs are running my fans fine as we speak, GPO3 does turn on but makes the LCD screw up somehow and have to be power cycled. Sometimes it will come back with a stop / restart of the display or a reboot, but the contrast of the display keeps changing seemingly randomly while it works as normal. Totally removing the power turns it back to its good old self. Lucky I only really need 2 HP GPOs isn't it?
