I have a quick question for anyone that can help with wiring an Aero 7 CPU fan to my MX2 display.
Basically the aero 7 on the CPU has a power line coming from a molex, then a single wire to the motherboard fan header for RPM monitoring and then finally a rehostat to adjust the blower speed which is currently sticking out a hole in a slot cover at the back of my case.
Which wires would i need to move to the MO display GPO and would i need to short the rehostat to stop that controlling the speed?
Also if i control the fan using the display will this affect the RPM readings?
Finally i should be able to get the MO display to start the fan as soon as i hit my power button shoudnt i? Think i remember seeing something on here before?
Any help would be appreciated!
Cheers - Chris

Hello...
The best way to probably explain this is if you refer to section 2.2.1 of the manual and the pinout for the high powered GPO is described. The three connections you have are RPM, 5V/12V (PWM) and ground. You could attach your connections accordingly. Your unit should have the GPO's set to default on at power up if it's a recently purchased model. If this does not work please advise and I'll walk you through the appropriate steps!!

Miles - tanks for the reply - i will be giving this a go tonight then but i get the feeling the GPO's may be off as default as i have a cathode connected to one GPO and this doesnt come on until LCDC starts.
I will do a search on here tonight to see if i can find the GPO on powerup info as i think i have seen it before - will drop a message back on here if i have a problem.
Oh and on a side note has anyone come across the issue where LCDC doesnt detect their screensaver state - at the moment by cathode doesnt turn off when the screeensaver comes on - ah well.
Thanks - Chris

If you send me an email at myero@matrixorbital.ca I'll send you a software application that can change the default settings of your high powered GPO's.
