MX220 Fonts?

Post by goshen »

I hope someone might be able to help me...

I've had my mx220 for a few weeks now, and it's great, but I'm just wondering if it is possible to change the way the fonts display on the screen. I thought I had read that you cannot install extra fonts, but I want to make sure.

In the pic below, you can see the zero's, which have a stripe through them... from a distance, it's hard to tell the difference between a zero and an 8, it sort of blurs the number.

- Are there any font sets that have just a plain 0?
- Is there a way to set LCDC to ignore leading zero's?

Hello...

The only font that is available on the display are the characters listed in the character set. A complete character set is listed in the section 2.4 of the manual. The MX220 does have 8 custom characters that you can use at your disposal...Please see section 4.1.6 of your manual.

thanks,

i had a look at that, but it's a little too technical - ie doesn't tell me if I can actually replace the inbuilt 0 (with a stripe) with a 0 (without stripe); or is there a way to type some code to tell the software to display the custom created character 0 (without stripe) where-ever it would normally display a 0 (with stripe).

Before I try to work out how - I just want to see if it's possible.

Also - is it possible for the display to NOT display leading zero's in numbers?

Many thanks,
Goshen

No you can't change the 0, all you can do is create a custom character to replace it and then use that instead. But then you need software that will process that and use the custom character instead of the 0.

As for the leading 0, in LCDC you can change the date format in the config screen to remove it.
