Hi!

I was a little annoyed at the font uploading system that are built into mogd.exe. So i decided to make my own font uploading program. My program tries to solve three problems that i identified with mogd.exe:

1. The amount of files that you need for one font. It is some extra work to do copy+paste between say 100 diffrent files, since many characters have similarities. I think it is much simplier to work with one file. (Main reason)
2. The font upload in mogd does not always work. (Don't know if mine is better yet.)
3. If you download a font from the internet, there is no need for placing it in any special directory.

For now it is only tested with WinXP and GLK12232SM.

C-Source will be available in the future.

I really like the autodetect function! You need to add in a "how to create the font file" doc.

Thanks for the reply Henry!

I have now update the .zip file with some primitive manual. Mabye now it is possible for others to do some own fonts.

Does all GL* displays support font uploading in the same way as the GLK12232-25-SM?

Thanks in advance,

Yes they do... I tested the software on the GLC24064 when I wrote the first post.

Anyone happen to have this file? The link is long since dead and I've just acquired a GLC24064. It works great, although I cannot upload fonts with either LCDC or MOGD as they both give me errors. I've searched these forums for days and I haven't gotten anywhere in figuring out why I can't upload fonts. :x

LCDTester (I said LCDC by mistake) = Upload of Bitmap file ... failed. Invalid Low Size Size Returned: 254

MOGD = Warning! The module did not return the correct character! (Send : 1 Received : 254) Do you want to continue?

The module did work at one point with the default installed fonts. I uploaded another successfully and then for some reason, it would not display any other type of font, so I wiped it with the intentions of reinstalling the defaults.

Now, I didn't receive this as a full kit. I modded the power cable (simple enough) and used a standard 9-pin serial cable. Could this be affecting transfer somehow?

Using Mogd.exe, can you turn the contrast up/down and turn the backlight off/on??

Yes, I can do both -- with MOGD and LCDTester. Plus, the default graphics still work fine. Just can't seem to upload any type of fonts. :grr:
