Trouble with Fan Control (PWM)
Click me for full details. (Don't want to explain all over again)
The MX 2 rev 1.4 has the jumper just below the fan headers or gpos 1,2,3. By default it is set to high power from the factory. I'm not sure if you need to desolder the jumper 2 as in the online manual, or if this is only to allow fans to boot up instantly at power on. It does required a steady hand and a solder gun! I've done it (first time with a solder gun!
) its fiddly but not to hard to do. It also draws power from the floppy header instead of the USB header.

I prefer to have a bottle in front of me than a full frontal Labotomy!

Ok, so the jumper is in the correct position. I'm not too sure about jumper 2 yet. But I also don't want to do any soldering, although I've done it before and I'm sure I'll be able to do it properly, I'm satisfied that it starts when loaded.
I was just wondering why it won't stay on. I've tried setting minimum PWM at 50% and 75% and yet the fans still completely stop.
Now I'm wondering if I should just be happy that the fans start when its getting too warm and completely stop when its cool enough.

It sounds as though there isnt enough voltage getting to the lcd via the floppy connector? have you any 12v to floppy connector converters that you could hook up to a standard 12v molex connection from your PSU to the lcd via the converter? this will test if the LCD is getting enough juice through a different connector? you would at least be able to eliminate this. What is the rating on your fans?

Unfortunately I don't have a floppy connector converter, did have one that came with my 9700 Pro but sold it.
I will try a different floppy power connector though. And I'll have to double check on the rating for my fans, I know they are 120mm fans with less than 1000mA current. But thats all I know for sure.
I'll also try the stuff from the link Miles posted, will post back soon.
P.S. Damn, your avatar is scaring me Johnny

Damn!

Now the second line of my LCD isn't working anymore it seems. It doesn't light up, doesn't show any characters; almost as if the second line isn't getting any power anymore. I'm thinking its from the fans starting and stopping too often; as I said in an earlier post, the characters changed whenever the fans start up. Then PWM stopped them, then started again, screwing up my characters.
The first line seems to be working the same as it used to. Still getting different characters when fans start spinning. Is there a REV 2.0 yet?
I think I'm just going to give up on the PWM and just leave my fans either directly connected to molex or not use it at all.
