Anyone like the idea of a MX4 in a SINGLE bay?

I of course don't pretend to know the makings of the MX4, but wouldn't it be great to have a version fit into one 5.25 bay, rather than across two?

What do you mean "1/2-height drive bay"? You mean a standard 5.25 slot? ie: Where a CD drive would fit? Didn't realise it would be that tight...

Yep, a standard 5.25 bay is called '1/2-height'; this is 1.6". There is some history behind this... I believe it stems from the XT days, where a harddisk actually had a front panel (like a CD drive, this panel contained an activity led; the drive was about the same size as a CD drive). I haven't seen serverdrives from that time, but I assume they were twice as high. I assume this, because this even now is the case: >73 GB 10K+ USCSI drives are usually twice as high as 'normal' harddisks, but otherwise 3.5" wide.

Back on topic: of course, it would be nice to have it only take up a single drivebay, but I can imagine if the design becomes to complicated, this will show up in the cost...
